Lectio divina

Lectio divina (Latin for divine reading) is a traditional Benedictine practice of scriptural reading, meditation, and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase knowledge of the Bible. It is held at St Bene’t’s on the first Sunday of the month at 9am in the Ramsey Rooms in church, at the back of the south aisle. All are welcome to this meeting, where we read the scriptures prayerfully to hear what the Spirit is saying to us, individually and corporately. It is different from and complementary to the scholarly study of the scriptures.
