Who We Are
We are 70-100 in Church at 10 am on Sunday aged 0-100. We are ordinary Christians from various backgrounds and traditions. Most of us live outside the parish but come to St Bene’t’s because we appreciate its contemplative atmosphere. Many have other commitments and communities where we live and in the town and university. Some of us are ‘passing through’ Cambridge and need a spiritual base. We have an electoral roll of 112, and we are a parish of colleges, shops, businesses and university institutions. Clergy preside at the daily morning Eucharist at 8am, the 10.30 Eucharist on Tuesdays, and on at the 8am and 10am services on Sundays. Evening Prayer is said each evening at six, and is often led by lay people.
Visitors are welcome here and we invite them to:
- enjoy our history
- seek spiritual advice and counsel
- pray
- be quiet and alone without intrusion
