Christmas and Regular Services
St Bene’ts Christmas Services:
Each of the four Sundays in Advent are marked at the 10am Sung Eucharist by the lighting of an Advent Candle.
Sunday 20th December:
11.30am, after the 10am service: Carol Singing in the Market Square
(Proceeds to Solace Ministries, a Rwandan charity for genocide survivors).
Thursday 24th December (Christmas Eve):
5pm: “Journey to Bethlehem”, a service for all ages with carols
and pictures followed by Christmas refreshments.
11.30pm: Midnight Eucharist (preacher, Revd. Dr Rachel Nicholls)
Friday 25th December (Christmas Day):
8am: Eucharist
10am: Sung Eucharist (preacher, Revd. Angela Tilby)
SUNDAY, January 10th, 2010 (please note: our Christmas card had a typographical error, or a human one, and read Monday instead of Sunday):
6pm: Sung Evening Prayer for Epiphany with carols and the
blessing of the icon of St Francis and St Benedict with Brother Samuel SSF.
SUNDAYS8 am: Eucharist (Common Worship Order One Traditional language) said without hymns, brief homily.
9 am: First Sunday of the Month Lectio Divina in the Ramsey Rooms. A chance for shared contemplation on one of the scripture readings at the Eucharist.
10 am: Sung Eucharist: hymns from the New English Hymnal, a sermon, a Catholic, inclusive liturgy, incense on Festivals.
There are children’s activities in the Ramsey Rooms, including Godly Play for smaller children in the lower Ramsey Room, and a thought-provoking group upstairs for older children. The service is followed by coffee and biscuits.
Sunday Supplement: Around once a month and all through Lent there is a Sunday Supplement after coffee, where someone presents some thoughts on an aspect of faith or on a matter that affects the church, and then opens it up for discussion. All are welcome.

6.30pm: First Sunday of the Month: Prayer and silence before the Blessed Sacrament
6.30 pm: Second Sunday of the Month: Ministry of Healing
8 am each morning: Eucharist
10.30 am (Tuesday only) Eucharist followed by Coffee
6 pm each evening: Evening Prayer
On two or three occasions in the summer term the Cambridge Theological Federation has a service in Church which replaces Evening Prayer
